Johnny Mims Obituary

On Friday November 15, 2024, God reached down and plucked our brother Johnny DeWayne Mims, age 60 from our garden of love. Johnny DeWayne Mims was born March 13, 1964, to the late Melvin Junior and Myrtle Herbert Mims in Galesburg, Illinois.
Johnny attended school at Parker High School he was very athletic he played football and basketball, but his passion was track and field. Johnny was a smart individual who loved working on vehicles. He was our hometown mechanic who worked on everyone vehicle who asked for help. He would always talk mess and kept everyone laughing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Timothy Mims and Jimmy Mims; one niece, Darnesha Mims.
He leaves to forever cherish his memories, three sisters, Juanita Mims, Patricia Mims of Crestview, Florida and Amber Anderson of Arizonia; one aunt, Claudia Mae Hall of Brewton, Alabama; four nieces, Eva Akins of Shreveport, Louisiana, T'Kayiah White, Ariel Mims and Tacoryal White all of Crestview, Florida; three nephews, Jessie Akins, Tykel White both of Crestview, Florida, Drew Mims of Illinois; one sister-in-law, Sandy Mims of Chicago, Illinois; special friends, Love and Joann McQueen, Chuck and Terry Thames, Reverend Clayton and Mary Williams and Karen and Keith Cook; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
