Efrain A. Almanza Jr. entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on August 6, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Maria J. (Mary Jane) Almanza; his children Jessica Almanza (Javier), Efrain Almanza III and Edmund Almanza (Serena); grandchildren Jenna Canales-Garcia (Chato), Jacob Almanza, Celestina Almanza and Josephine Almanza; siblings Abel Almanza (Alicia), Olga Zavalza (Temo), Alfredo Almanza (Gloria), Gilbert Almanza (Emma), Sylvia Hernandez, Elena Tijerina (Frank †), Josefine Trinidad (Robert), Elizabeth Gil (Tony †), Josefina Saenz (Heriberto), Joe Almanza (Margaret), Sam Almanza and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents Efrain Hernandez Almanza and Estella Vasquez Almanza; mother-in-law Micaela R. Fuentes; sisters Maria Garcia, Belia Almanza, Rosa Espinoza, Irene Ramirez, and Lydia Sepulveda.
Efrain retired from Via Metropolitan Transit System after 31 years of service as a leadman in the paint & body shop. He also worked at St. Leo the Great Catholic School for 7 years after his retirement.
After fully retiring he stayed home with his wife, where he spent time tending to his plants and roses. My dad was always outside waving and talking to everyone in the neighborhood.
Efrain was a wonderful man with a big heart and would go out of his way to help anyone that needed his help.
He will be missed dearly, and his memories will be cherished forever in our hearts.
