Eleanor Hockenberry Obituary

Eleanor Mae Hockenberry, age 80, of Wilmot, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Robert Packer Hospital, in Sayre, PA, after a brief illness.

 She was born in Pottstown, PA, the daughter of the late Paul Frederick and Betty Lou Jones Haas. 

She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl (Chris) Drach, grandchildren Kelly McJilton, Samantha Drach and Casey Drach, siblings Dorothy Yon and John Speck along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Paula (Alberter) Amigh and her daughter Sonya McJilton.

 Eleanor Mae married the only true love of her life, Samual Lawrence Hockenberry of East Waterford, PA, on June 8, 1963. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage until his passing on November 24, 2015.

 Eleanor was a homemaker, loving spouse, and the best mother and grandmother ever. She enjoyed caring for her family and her property. She loved getting on her mower every summer and cutting grass.

 A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
