Elmo Ellis Jr, 69 of Holden gained his wings at Logan Regional Medical Center on March 25, 2024, and is rejoicing in heaven, praising his Lord and Savior.
He was born December 18, 1954, to the late Elmo Ellis Sr & Martha Williams Ellis, in addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his Father & Mother-in-law, Elmer and Virginia Workman.
He took great pride in being a coal miner, he had a great passion for fishing, cheering on WVU, and mostly being with his family, especially being with his Grand Angels, Brooklyn Ellis, Maddox Beavers & Jordan Ellis, making memories. Elmo attended No. 7 Holden Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his wonderful memories and who are thankful for the blessings he bestowed upon their lives include his wife of 49yrs Delma Gaylene Workman Ellis, his daughter Jennifer (Shawn) Beavers of Holden, and his son Jonathan (Brandi) Ellis of Huntington WV. Three grand-angels Brooklyn, Maddox, & Jordan. One baby sister (lol), Kathy (Donnie) Wells of Justice Addition. His buddy Scotty Workman and a host of other precious family members. Special Thanks go to Dr Allen Young & Nurse Kimberly Vance, for their great compassion.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Akers-James Funeral Home with Rev Donald Wells & Rev Michael Kimler officiating and Honorary Rev John R Spears. The singer will be Katelynn Wells. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville. Friends may call 2 hours before the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Ellis, Shawn Beavers, Scotty Workman, Hunter Workman, Jerry Dale Workman, and Kevin Wells.
