Eloise Marquez Obituary

Eloise Tijerina Marquez, 93, of Dumas, died on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. 

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church with Mike Watson officiating. Burial will be at the Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.

Eloise was born on March 31, 1931 in Dale, Texas to Eulojio and Maria Tijerina. She grew up around Mathis, Texas and moved to Dumas in 1968. She retired from Swift. She was an excellent cook and loved to sing. She was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Domingo Marquez Sr. 

She is survived by two daughters, Anita Marquez and Rosalinda Arellano and husband Ruben, all of Dumas; three sons, Domingo Marquez Jr. and wife Eileen of Raton, Noe Marquez and wife Rosa of Dumas, and Eulojio Marquez and wife Santa of Dumas; four brothers, Paul Tijerina of Amarillo, Ernest Tijerina of Plainview, Raymond Tijerina of Amarillo, and Santiago Tijerina of Council Bluffs, Iowa; five sisters, Mary Louise Valenzuela of Plainview, Eva Martinez of Hale Center, Amelia Rodriguez of Plainview, Gloria Woicke of Kansas City, and Maria Garcia of Brady; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Rosary will be said at 4:00 PM, followed by a visitation until 8:00 PM, on Monday, July 15, 2024.
