Our loving mother, Emma Miranda de Pérez passed away peacefully, after receiving the Holy Rites, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 81. She is preceded by the death of her husband, Efrén Pérez Quiñones (Frenchy) (2022), and her brother Richard Miranda (2023). Emma is survived by her sons Ricardo and Roxanne, Gustavo and Gelie, and by her daughter, Emma and Glenn. Also, by her ten grandchildren Andres, Diego, Adriana, Claudia, Cecilia, Tavo, Ryan, Gavin, Brooke, and Taylor. She is also survived by her three sisters, Margarita, Diana, and Anita Miranda.
Emma was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on January 27, 1943, to Daisy and Richard Miranda. She graduated from Academia San José High School, in Villa Caparra, and from the University of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She married Frenchy on June 30, 1966. Emma spent thirty years as a history teacher at Academia del Perpetuo Socorro, in Miramar, Puerto Rico. Emma, and her husband Frenchy, dedicated their summers in collaboration with Professor Jose Manuel Leavitt (RIP), taking teenagers from Puerto Rico on educational trips all over Europe, South America, and the United States. Later in life, Emma and Frenchy retired to Port St. Lucie, and Orlando, Florida.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Mary Mother of God Chapel, in Saint Pedro Spiritual Center, 95 Bishop Grady Lane, Winter Park, FL. We will be celebrating a mass early next year in Puerto Rico to commemorate her life. More details to follow. The beautiful memories we all have of her will remain in our hearts forever.
"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way.
it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing,
but rejoices with the truth." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
