Ernest Charles Carlson, age 88, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, with his daughters by his side. Born on September 25, 1936, Ernest lived a full and loving life devoted to his family and his community.
Ernest was married to the love of his life, Janet May Carlson, for 63 wonderful years before her passing. Together, they built a strong and loving family, raising three children and creating a legacy of kindness, resilience, and devotion.
He is survived by his daughters Sandra Bowman, and Jeanne (Eric) Plater and daughter in law, Janice Carlson. He was a proud grandfather to Melissa (Jon), Shelby (Josh), Michael, Joseph Bowman (Kathleen Wilk), Adam (Jennifer), Kayla (Cody), and Kara. His joy multiplied with the arrival of his great-grandchildren: Tyler, Ava, Mackenzie, Kaylee, Leena, and Scarlett.
Ernest was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janet, his son Michael Carlson, and many dear friends and family members who welcomed him home with open arms.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his warm heart, and the deep love he had for his family In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ernest's memory to an Alzheimer's or Parkinson's charity.
