Ernestina Rios Martinez passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in Kerrville, Texas. She was born in Caldwell Texas to Guadalupe and Evangelina Rios on July 22, 1937.

She dedicated her life to raising three daughters, Patricia Ann, Viviana and Helen Martinez. Working hard for her girls was without question as her dedication of over 45 years at Hilltop Village Health and Rehab. She ensured her three daughters were raised in faith and supported their private education at Notre Dame Catholic School.

After retirement, Tina enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved visiting her favorite restaurants and also enjoyed thrifting. She was always up for a Sunday drive any day of the week with the windows down and the radio up. She was an amazing cook. Her specialties include homemade tamales, menudo and her famous hot sauce. Her love language was ensuring that everyone had plenty to eat and never went hungry. One of her other favorite past times was her girls' trips to the casino and you could always put a smile on her face with handing her some scratch off's.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Evangelina Rios; brother, Raul Rios; niece, Eva C. Ramirez; and late husband, Joe Martinez.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Ann, Viviana and Helen Martinez; brother, Samuel (Amelia) Rios; sisters, Elvira Castillo and Gloria Rios; grandchildren, Nico (Alexis) Castillo, Noah Martinez, Xolaani Clark and Sabastian Feaselman; great-grandchildren, Atreyu, Zion and Nova Castillo, and Ronin Martinez; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 4pm-6pm with the Rosary following at 6pm at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Texas.

Family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her caregivers at Avir Nursing and Rehab and her loving hospice team with Embrace Hospice.
