Etna Faye Wates age 95 of Guin, AL passed away Monday, November 4, 2024 in the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin, AL.
Born September 29, 1929 in Marion County, Al she is the Daughter of the late Will and Bessie Green Franks and the Wife of the late Qudell Wates. She had lived in the Pea Ridge Community most of her life and was a faithful member of the Green Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her Daughter-In-Law, Fleeta Spruiell (Don) of Sulligent, AL, 2 Grandsons, Phillip (Sabrina) Wates of Guin, AL and Richard (Marsha) Wates of Huntsville, AL, 4 Great Grandchildren, Garrett (Katherine) Wates of Birmingham, AL, Kailee Wates of Woodstock, GA, Mary Beth (Ryan) Jones of Huntsville, AL, and Peyton (Hannah) Wates of Huntsville, AL, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren, Holland Wates, Harper Wates, and Birdie Wates.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Qudell Wates, a Son, Michael Wates, Sisters, Sara Grey Martin, Ava Pollard Frye, and Jewel Morrow, and Brothers, Hugh Akers, and Woody Akers.
Services held Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM from the Veal Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Center Cemetery. Bro. Dwight Wilson and Bro. Roger Akers officiating.
