Eugene H. Bates, 81, a beloved member of the Northport community, passed away on May 9, 2024, at Hospice House in Spokane, Washington. He was born on October 8, 1942, in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania and grew up in New York. Eugene had a rich and fulfilling life that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Eugene attended Kingston High School in New York, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning and growth. After high school, Eugene dedicated himself to serving his country and enlisted in the United States Army. His time in the Army was a period of great pride and honor for him.

He had a passion for carpentry and construction and enjoyed gathering with his loved ones for bonfires and BBQs. He cherished every moment spent with family and friends.

Eugene is survived by his daughters Stacy Burke (Willie) & Torina Richardt (Dave); granddaughter Kelsey Todd (Cody); grandsons Daulton Burke (Marisa), Derrick Kroiss (Molly) and Colby Kroiss; 3 great-grandchildren: Peytyn, Cruz & Cole; and his sister Joyce Albright (Ed) and his brother Bob Bates.

He was preceded in death by his late wife Ardith C Bates; parents Herbert Eugene & Adelaide Bates; and sister-in-law Christine Bates.

Eugene H Bates will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
