Eunice C. Tollander was born in Columbia Heights, Minnesota on January 3, 1927, to Oscar and Clara (Hermstad) Hendricks. Eunice was the eighth of nine children. She worked around the farm and attended Lafollette School in Bone Lake Township for eight years. She then moved to Superior, then onto Minneapolis and returned to Luck at the age of 20. She worked as a store clerk and a telephone operator.
She also worked in a restaurant in Luck and this is where she met Charlie the love of her life, and she married him May 21, 1949, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Luck. Two sons were born to this reunion, Roger and Tim. In February 1955 the family moved to Webster, Wi, where they went into the Insurance and Real Estate Business. Eunice taught herself how to type out of a book on a borrowed manual typewriter, she then started working in the office in 1956. Eunice and Charlie retired from that business in 1975.
Eunice loved the outdoors, yard work, gardening, cross country skiing, sliding in the winter with the boys, swimming, bike riding and water skiing. She sang in the church choir for 45 years, and with the "Sweet Adelines" for 3 years, taught Sunday School for 11 years and was also a Cub Scout Leader. She was active in the Hook & Cook Homemakers, served on Christian Women's board for 25 years and was always active in her church. In later years, she learned to enjoy golf and organized the first group of about 36 ladies to golf at Fox Run Golf Course. She also loved sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking.
Eunice passed away October 11th, 2025, at the age of 98. Eunice is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Clara (Hermstad) Hendricks, her husband Charles Tollander, brothers Bruce, Arnie and wife Millie, Milo and wife Ramona, Grant and wife Thelma, Oliver and wife Rosella. sisters, Elaine and husband Olander Jensen, Sylvia and husband Vern Larson, Jeannette and husband Donald Collins. Brother- in-laws, Neil Tollander, Dale Tollander and sister-in-law Marie Marshall and husband Bill. Also, many friends and relatives.
Eunice is survived by her sons Roger (Vicki) Tollander, Timothy (Mary) Tollander, grandchildren Ryan (Jessica) Tollander, Ross (Susan) Tollander, Jacob Tollander, Matthew Tollander and great grandchildren, Macy, Dane, Morgan, Reid and Kylie.

Eunice is now in her forever home; she had a strong faith and loved The Lord. We will miss her and we will talk about her and we will keep her in our memories.
We want to recognize the wonderful care and concern that she received from The Traditions Nursing Home and St. Croix Hospice both in Frederic, WI. Eunice loved living at Traditions, she always said, "I'm so lucky to have this place." Thank you to the Swedberg Taylor Funeral Home for their services, concern and empathy.
Family will receive friends from 12:30 pm- 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 16th, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Webster, WI, with services to follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery. Everyone is invited back for lunch following the burial.
