Florence Costabile, 87, of Tamarac Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday September 14, 2024.Florence is survived by her loving daughter and caretaker Suzanne, son John and his wife Maryann, grandchildren Christopher, Adam, Matthew, Brenda and her husband Jordan, great grandchildren Melanie, Christopher Ryan, Autumn Hope, Liam and Ezra. Florence leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially her best friend Bunky and her husband Dick as well as their family.
Florence was born December 15, 1936 in The Bronx NY. She married the love of her life, John September 21, 1957. Florence was a great sister to Anna and Sally.
Florence loved dancing with her husband at any event and even frequented the Copacabana in NYC many weekends. Florence was a beautician and owned her own salon in the Bronx for many years. Later in life she and her husband owned a deli in Yonkers NY for numerous years.
Florence and John relocated to Florida to help care for her ailing father, Vincenzo and mother Ottavia.
Florence was a bingo junkie. Anytime, anywhere, anyhow she could get to bingo she would. Florence and John ran bingo for many years in Mainland's 4 where they lived. After John passed away Florence kept the bingo going and thriving for a number of years until she had to give it up.
Florence cared greatly for her friends. She never missed a chance to call or send a card to a friend who was going through a rough time, ill or just needed someone to talk with.
She was an amazing cook and could make a feast out of scraps and you would think you were eating gourmet food. She rarely missed an episode of General Hospital. She enjoyed reading, doing word search games and playing Skip-Bo.
Florence will be greatly missed and leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her children.
