Mrs. Florence G. Gill of Oakdale, IL, departed this life at Washington County Hospital in Nashville, IL on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 12:08 P.M. She had attained the age of 86 years, 8 months and 19 days.
Florence was born on January 17, 1938, in Pinckneyville, IL, the daughter of Aloyious and Rose (Siadek) Piotrowski. She was united in marriage to Joseph Gill on August 2, 1958, at St. Bruno's Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2015.
Florence was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Todds Mill, IL. She enjoyed keeping up with all local sporting events and gardening. Florence loved her family dearly and cherished her time that she spent with them.
Left to mourn her passing are five children, Cathy Masters and husband Bart of Shiloh, IL, Jeff Gill and wife Pam of Nashville, IL, Gary Gill and wife Kristina of Oakdale, Mark Gill and wife Michelle of Oakdale and Generose Buchanan and husband Randy of Nashville; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild on the way, a sister, Teresa Hopp of Pinckneyville, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers, Anton Bednarkewicz, John Piotrowski, Frank Piotrowski, Raymond Piotrowski and George Piotrowski; 2 sisters Marie (Bednarkewicz) Bauza and Bernice Kellerman and a grandson Marcus Allen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Todd's Mill, IL on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 10 A.M. with Msgr. Tom Flach officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Todds Mill, IL, on Wednesday from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Thursday at the church from 8 A.M. until the service hour.
Should friends desire mass offerings or memorials may be made to the St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery or the NCHS Sports Boosters and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, in charge of arrangements.
