Frances Theresa Faro, age 76, of Portage, MI, formerly of Gallatin, TN, passed away on November 26, 2024. Frances was born in Chicago, IL, on February 23, 1948, the daughter of the late Thomas Murphy and Elsie (Benson) Virts. Frances graduated from Andover High School in Linthicum, Maryland with a major in stenography. Upon graduation, she worked as a secretary at First Army, Fort Meade in Maryland. After leaving Ft. Meade, she moved to Tennessee where she raised three children. She returned to work while living in Tennessee, working for Nukote, Macy’s Warehouse, Bosch Braking Systems and Amazon Distribution Center. Frances enjoyed going to the movies and live theater including plays and musicals. She also enjoyed traveling and visited many destinations including The Bahamas, Alaska, and Ireland. Later in retirement, she moved to Michigan where she resided with her son and daughter-in-law William and Meredith, who survive. She is also survived by sons, Stephen Faro and Thomas Faro; grandchildren, Jessica, Stephen, Isaac, Britney, Maria, Carmen and Anthony Faro; her sister, Katherine (Charles) Plourde. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia McAllister. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, December 20, 2024, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Crestview Funeral Home - Memory Gardens & Cremation Center, 1623 TN-109 Gallatin, TN 37066, followed by a memorial service beginning at 1:30 pm. Interment will take place at 2:00 pm at Crestview Memory Gardens in Gallatin, TN. A reception will follow from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be given to Centrica Care Navigators or Karmanos Cancer Foundation, c/o the funeral home.
