Francisca Tovar Gutierrez, a devoted Christian and hardworking mother, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024, at the age of 84. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery.
Born in Santa Rosa, Texas on September 7, 1939, Francisca was the daughter of Florencio and Simona Tovar. She grew up in Santa Rosa, TX and attended Santa Rosa ISD where she met her late husband, Epifanio Roy Gutierrez. Their paths crossed again at a church service led by Brother A.G. Etterman, years later.
Francisca married Epifanio Roy Gutierrez on May 10, 1959. Together they raised 7 children: Elsie Springer, Rudy Gutierrez, Lisa Barocio, Abel Roy Gutierrez, Simon Peter Gutierrez, Elias Gutierrez, and Benjamin Gutierrez. She was a loving and supportive mother, who taught the importance of hard work and standing strong in the Lord.
Francisca and Epifanio began their ministry in Belton, Texas in 1964, spreading the good word of the Lord and bringing many families to Christ. As a devout member of The Church of the God of the Firstborn, Francisca was known for her unwavering faith, kindness, generosity, and dedication to her beliefs.
In addition to her family life, Francisca was a skilled and resourceful woman. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking, bringing joy to her family through her many talents.
Francisca is preceded by her parents, Florencio and Simona Tovar; her beloved husband, Epifanio Roy Gutierrez; son, Elias Gutierrez; brothers, Rito Gamboa, Juan Gamboa, and Santo Tovar; sisters, Adela Benavides, Aurora Rojas, and Mariana Martinez; grandson, Stanley “Seth” Gordon Springer; and great grandson, Roy Gutierrez.
Survivors include her sons, Rudy Gutierrez, Abel Gutierrez, Simon Gutierrez, and Benjamin Gutierrez; daughters, Elsie Springer, and Elisabeth Barocio; sister, Maria De Jesus Alvarado; 24 grandchildren, Aaron C. Springer, Rachel Rodriguez, Jason Barocio, Simona Teague, Amber Gutierrez, Anthony Fulton, April Castillo, Krystal Torres, Angela Torres, Abel Gutierrez, Paul Gutierrez, Rudy Gutierrez, Annie K. Montanez, Simon P. Gutierrez, Frances Gutierrez, Juliana Gutierrez, Robert Putman, Matthew Gutierrez, Karen Diaz, Rachel Gutierrez, Samantha Gutierrez, Andrew Gutierrez, Joanna Gutierrez, and Elias Gutierrez; and 34 great grandchildren, Seth G. Springer, Lauren C. Springer, Mark A. Fulton Jr., Teagan Rohde, Tyler Rohde, Tucker Rohde, Bryce Oertel, Audrina Castillo, Sophie Castillo, Jesse Castillo, Alaina Gutierrez, Jayden Gutierrez, Maya Gutierrez, Brayden Gutierrez, Brandon Gutierrez Jr., Cristian A. Rodriguez, Mark J. Rodriguez, Maggie E. Rodriguez, Benjamin N. Gutierrez, Caleb G. Gutierrez, Epifanio R. Gutierrez, Luke J. Gutierrez, Moriah E. Gutierrez, Nevaeh E. Gutierrez, Stephanie E. Gutierrez, Bexley N. Barocio, Izzy J. Barocio, Tatum Lee R. Teague, Tristan R. Teague, Trace M. Teague, Mateo R. Gutierrez, Dylan Putman, Hunter Putman, Harlow Putman, and Damien Herman.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Monday, September 9, 2024, at the funeral home.
