Marilyn Doll Obituary

Marilyn Theresa Doll, age 78, of Lake City, Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn was born on July 21, 1946, in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Beatrice and Lucy Gogan. She was raised in Boston and graduated from St. Columbkille High School in 1964. At the age of 17, Marilyn met the love of her life and best friend, John H. Doll Jr., who was searching for someone to accompany him to the Military Ball as he was new to the Boston area. Their connection was immediate, and a few dates later, they set their wedding date. On August 8, 1964, Marilyn and John were married, beginning a loving marriage that would span over 60 years. Together, they moved and relocated many times over the years, creating a lifetime of memories. In 2020, they made their final move from Placerville, California, to Lake City, Florida, where they made their home. Marilyn was a devoted homemaker who treasured spending time with her family. She was a talented and creative soul, enjoying activities such as crocheting, painting, and making candles. Marilyn's artistic spirit extended to making thoughtful, handmade gifts for her loved ones, always putting her heart into everything she created. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Lucy Beatrice; and sister, Patricia Herstam.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 60 years, John H. Doll, Jr.; children, John H. (Kristy) Doll, III. of Lake City, FL and Cynthia Louise (Jay Anderson) Doll of Kalkaska, MI; sister, Janice (Joseph) Valenti of Fremont, CA; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; along with numerous extended family members and friends.
