Jolanta Mucha (née Nalepka), age 46, a longtime resident of Plainfield, IL, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in the presence of her family. She was born on May 27, 1979 in Lapsze Nizne, Poland.
Beloved wife of Kazimierz "Kasey" Mucha, whom she married on July 10, 2004, loving mother of Julia, Karolina and Alexandra "Ola", devoted daughter of Anna (née Nowobilska) and the late John Nalepka, daughter-in-law of Karol and Stanislawa Mucha, dear sister of Andrzej (Justyna) Nalepka, sister-in-law of Józef Mucha and Anna (the late Andrzej) Ceszek, fond niece, cousin, aunt and friend of many.
Jolanta grew up in Lapsze Nizne, Poland and as a young adult, attended school in Zakopane, Poland. She came to the United States in 2002, was a loving and devoted homemaker and also worked for a cleaning service.
A devout Catholic, Jolanta attended St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield and Holy Cross Catholic Church in Joliet, IL. She loved music and enjoyed vacations with her family, especially to various national parks in the western United States.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, 4:00-8:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd. (Corners of Rt. 59 and Rt. 30), Plainfield, IL 60544.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 14, 10:30 AM at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield, IL 60544, (815) 436-2651. The funeral mass will be livestreamed.
Interment will be private.
