They raised six wonderful children in a home grounded in faith and love. Known for his bright smile and infectious laugh, Gene was an avid sports fan, he loved to watch westerns, he loved old school r and b; live blues music and Motown classics. Visitors to the Johnson home always enjoyed a loving environment filled with good laughs, good music and great food.
Gene accepted Jesus as his Savior and was baptized at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Charles E. Marshall,Sr., He was a faithful and proud member of the Usher Board until his health would not allow him to serve.
