It is with grateful hearts that we celebrate the peaceful passing of our beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, friend and OPI- George Robert (Rob) Bradley. Born October 28, 1962, to parents, Sandra Fuller Bradley and George Ronald Bradley in Mineral Wells, TX, Rob (Robbie) was the first son and eldest grandchild of Robert and Luanna Fuller and George and Beatrice Bradley. On Friday, October 11, 2024, in the quiet of the morning, at the exact time that all family drive trips commenced, Rob embarked on his last and most important journey "Home".
Rob was an earnest observer of life and collector of facts. He said less, but knew more and he could deliver the punchline to any joke, with dry, comedic timing. Growing up in San Antonio and later Boerne, he loved learning, sports and being with his brothers, Doug and Matt. As if preordained, Robbie met and shared all but one class of his senior year at Boerne High School with his best friend, life and love partner and wife Darla Kruse.
A fondness for music, lyrics and poetry was their instant bond, and they would forever quote songs to each other with knowing glances. Robbie became "Rob" and attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he completed the prerequisites for an early admission to the HSCSA Dental School. Rob and Darla married in 1985 and Rob went on to complete Dental School. In 1987, their first daughter, Kayleigh, was born and they moved to St. Louis, MO., so Rob could start the 2-year Orthodontic program at St. Louis University. New friends, amazing fall leaf displays, and Cardinal baseball made being away from home bearable, but by 1989, Rob, Darla and the girls (the family had grown with the addition of our "numbers baby", Ansley) were looking forward to coming back to Boerne, TX.
In Texas, Rob set up practices and dedicated himself to his family, church and community. In 1992, the family welcomed the youngest daughter, Lindley, just months after Rob opened his first orthodontic office near his alma mater Boerne High School. Throughout his 31-year career, Rob treated patients in San Antonio, Boerne and Bulverde. His incredible memory allowed him to recall the names of ALL of his patients (and their parents) until the very end.
Rob loved trip planning, snow skiing, playing the guitar and the precious time spent with the "OG fab 5" and its subsequent super group of 3 "dad approved" son-in-loves and 6 amazing grandchildren. Rob served in many capacities throughout his life- as a Rotarian, member of St. John Lutheran Church, KC Women's Shelter board member, Boerne Emmaus Community and member of the "LaHa Reunion Group". Friendships built in each of these lasted a lifetime.
Rob led by example and was generous with his time, his love and his life. He recognized that when we share ourselves it creates ripples of kindness and community that inspire others to do the same. Rob Bradley was a witness to his faith in both his life and in his dying. He was truly a "good and faithful servant".
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and is survived by his parents and his wife, Darla. He leaves behind the legacy of his three loving daughters, Kayleigh Woolard (Patrick), Ansley Smithson (Stewart), Lindley Lesicko (John) and six precious grandchildren- Cora, Crosby, Theo, Walt, Remy and Robin,
and so many shared memories with his brothers Doug (Jackie) and Matt (Jenni). Rob leaves behind another family that loved him dearly: Dani and Bob Vollmer Dennis Kruse (Mary), Darren Kruse (Anita), Aaron Vollmer (Mary Ann).
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, 10:00am, at the Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at the Boerne City Cemetery.
