My favorite memory of George was meeting him with his family in Arkansas in 1994 after it took me fifty years to find the family of his uncle Tib, who lost his life in WW2. George and his family welcomed my husband Barry, Uncle Vic, and Me as though we were long lost relatives. We all stood side by side at Uncle Tib's grave at Fort Smith Military Cemetery on the 50th anniversary of the death of Uncle Tib. For more than thirty years George kept in touch with me.
I will remember him with such happiness and pride as he was a true gentle man.
May you rest in peace dear friend.
Nanette.
