Gerald (Jerry) Robert Bostwick

Mount Juliet, TN – formerly of Brighton, MI

On September 16, 2025, with his wife by his side and his kids and brother close by, Gerald "Jerry" Robert Bostwick went home to be with his Lord and Savior.

Jerry left us too soon at 71 years young after a series of strokes.

Jerry was born on June 18th, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to Gerald "Jerry" and Joyce (Phelps)Bostwick. He was the oldest of six children and grew up with a love for music, good food, fishing, and working with his hands.

On August 13, 2011, Jerry married the love of his life, Sara Elizabeth Blossom Bostwick. In their 14years of marriage, they shared a life of adventure. While traveling, going on cruises, attending concerts, and in everyday life, Jerry always found the most interesting spots to explore. Jerry had a knack for making life fun, and he and Sara embraced each experience with joy and curiosity.

Jerry was a master carpenter, a craftsman who could take something ordinary, or even broken, and make it beautiful. He carried that same gift into the way he loved his family, bringing care and creativity into everything he touched. In his younger years, he was a talented guitar player, and music remained close to his heart. He will always be remembered as "the popcorn guy," proudly manning his own popcorn machine and making fresh popcorn for every grandchild who came to visit.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sara; his children Julie (Mark) Holbrook, Jerry (Chrissie) Bostwick, and Jon (Lindsay) Bostwick; his grandchildren Chloe, Lexi, Vincent, Theo, Mason, and Morgan; his bonus son Neal (Amy) Meisling and sons; his stepchildren Nando, Nina (Emory) Brown, Mimi (Josh) Johnson, and Saramaría (Forrest) Ponce; and his step-grandchildren Darius, Malik, Jacen, Wilder, and Paloma. He is also survived by his parents, Jerry and Joyce Bostwick, his siblings Mark (Kim) Bostwick, Nancy (Mike) Boatman, Tim Bostwick (Cindi Harden), and Matt (Shannon) Bostwick, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his brother John Bostwick.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 2:00–6:00 pm at 9900 Baude Road, Brighton, MI 48116. The gathering will be outdoors, casual attire is welcome-Jerry would want you to be comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor Jerry by doing something kind for someone else-share a laugh, make some popcorn, or fix something that's broken in memory of him.
