Gerald (Jerry) Lee Jackson, age 82, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Roane Medical Center. He was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus, Father Callahan Council 8273. Jerry was a native of Jefferson, Louisiana and a resident of Harriman, TN for 18 ½ years. He was a hard worker as a boiler technician/mechanic and an operating and stationary engineer/supervisor at LSUHSC. Additionally, he served 6 years in the Louisiana Army National Guard. Jerry was extremely passionate about cars. He loved taking rides in the country with his wife Phyllis and loved the Tennessee hills. His lifelong goal was to live in the Tennessee hills. He was extremely proud to be a 1960 graduate of Jesuit Highschool in New Orleans.
He is preceded in death by his Parents: G. W. Jackson & Mildred Herrmann Jackson.
Brothers: Charles Murray Jackson, G Woodward II, and John Temple Jackson.
He is survived by his devoted and beloved wife of 40 years: Phyllis Duplaisir Jackson.
Daughter: Kathy Jackson Young (Brian).
Two grandchildren: Ashley and Brandon Young.
Three sisters-in-laws: Carol Jackson, Anne Jackson, and Kathy Duplaisir.
One brother-in-law: William E. Duplaisir.
And several loved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, November 25, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman with the Rosary to follow. Memorial Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Sweeney officiating. Interment will follow in the Blessed Sacrament Church Columbarium with a luncheon for everyone afterward at Blessed Sacrament Hall.
