Gerald Joseph Wolf (Jerry)
Passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024, at his home. Age 93 years.
The son of the late Bernice E. (Lamb) and Frank J. Wolf was born, July 5, 1930, in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Saginaw High School where, in addition to his studies, he also played football on the varsity team. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He married Joan M. Hrinik, February 4, 1956, and together they had 3 children. His wife of 68 years survives him.
Jerry spent his entire career in the grocery and drugstore industries and was an accomplished businessman, having co-founded the regional drugstore chain “Clinton Drugs” in the 1960’s. Clinton Drugs was later acquired by the CVS drugstore chain, where Jerry worked as the mid-west regional manager for several years. He was a voracious reader of fiction and nonfiction books and always had an open book by his side. He had a lifelong interest in world history, including World War II, loved classic movies and was an expert at crossword puzzles. Jerry was also an active outdoorsman and enjoyed duck hunting and fishing throughout Michigan. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, Bridgeport
Surviving besides his wife, Joan, are three children and their spouses, Brian Wolf and his wife Paula Goldman; Leslie Campbell and her husband Rick; Judy Wolf and her husband, Jim Spoto; four grandchildren, William and Mason Wolf; Mary and Jackson Campbell; a sister-in-law, Trudy Moggo and her family; a brother-in-law, Jerry Hrinik, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 4241 Williamson Rd. Bridgeport, MI. Rev. Timothy Behnke will officiate. Friends may visit with family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Faith Lutheran Church, 4241 Williamson Rd. Bridgeport, MI 48722 or the charity of their choice.
