Giorgio M Sega, of
Brookfield, Wisconsin and North Venice, Florida, passed away in the morning of February 14, 2025 at Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota, Florida. Giorgio passed away peacefully, with family by his side. He was the devoted husband to Mary Sega, loving father to Alicia Christensen (husband: Matthew Christensen) and Gino Sega (wife: Cristina Sega), and proud grandfather of Zachary (Fanzhong Cao) Christensen, Anya Christensen, Wade Christensen, and Jacob Sega. Giorgio was also loved by Angela, Jason, Ava and Jack Johnson and Erica, Jascint, Talia, Callie, and Malena Vukelich and he was the dear brother of his brothers Riccardo, Corrado, Mauro, Orlando, Leonida Jr., and Leandro, and sisters Adela, Olga, Marissa, Diana, Nelly, and Nancy. Giorgio was also loved by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
A private family burial was held at St. Mary's Visitation Cemetery in Elm Grove, WI.

Giorgio was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela on October 13, 1942, to Leonida and Alicia Sega. He attended primary and secondary school in Maracaibo and left Venezuela to attend the University of California at Davis, where in 1966 he earned a Bachelor of Science in Food Science, followed a year later by a Master of Science in Food Science.
Giorgio joined Miller Brewing Company in 1967 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During his 40-year career there he worked in Miller breweries in Azusa, California (1968-1971), Fort Worth, Texas (1971-1975 and 1977-1981), and Fulton, New York (1975-1977). He returned to Milwaukee in 1981 and worked in Corporate Operations, Corporate Engineering, and Worldwide Operations. Giorgio retired in 2008 with the position of Director of International Operations. Giorgio joined the Master Brewers Association of the Americas (MBAA) in 1965 and was an active member throughout his career, serving in the Technical, Membership, By-Laws, Financial, Scholarship, Education, Long-Range Planning, and Executive Committees. In addition, Giorgio volunteered his time as an instructor in the MBAA Brewing Technology and Packaging Technology Course from 1985 – 2000 at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Giorgio was elected President of the MBAA in 1994.
In 1987, Giorgio was awarded the Phillip Morris Chairman Award for contributions made to the development of innovative beer processing systems involved in the aseptic production and packaging of Miller Genuine Draft. In 1995, he was presented with the MBAA Award of Honor. One of Giorgio's proudest moments was in 2007 when he was awarded the first Miller Brewery Legend award for his contributions to Miller and the brewing industry during his 40-year career.
Giorgio was a brilliant, hard-working, and passionate man who lived life on his own terms. His interests included baseball, skiing, cooking, traveling, and relaxing with Mary and friends on their boat. His legacy lives on in all of us who knew him. We invite you to reflect on his life, the times you shared with him, and the goodness he brought into the world.
