Gisela Vavra, 78
Okeechobee – Gisela Vavra died November 24, 2024. She was born July 7, 1946 in Pirmasense, Germany. A resident of Okeechobee for 45 years, she enjoyed traveling to the mountains and going to Georgia.
Mrs. Vavra was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Vavra; mother, Gerda James; and father, Heinz-Peter Sistig.
She is survived by her sons, Brian Vavra and Linda Snyder, of Harmany, Florida, Tony Vavra and Shawna Vavra, of Okeechobee, Florida; three grandchildren, James Snyder, Sarina Vavra and Alyssa Vavra; seven great grandchildren, Aliva Snyder, Mavrick Snyder, Layla Snyder, Brage Bennett, Beckett Bennett, Bodin Beckett, and Bearon Neckett; brother, Michael James; sister, Irene Guertin, of Washington; nieces, Haley Catillejos, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Laura Guertin, of Washington; nephews, Neal James, of Chapel Hill, Noth Carolina and James Guertin, of Washington; and dear friend Peggy Hunt Harlow.
