Gloria Long Obituary

Sherman - Gloria Ann (Porter) Long, 90 passed away September 27th after a brief stay at Ross Manor in Bangor, ME. She was born August 3, 1934, in Grindstone, ME the daughter of Earl and Clara Porter. Gloria was predeceased by her husband of 58 years Rudolph Long. Gloria was very much down to earth. She found happiness in her family life and very much looked forward to visits and calls from her children and friends. Additionally, Gloria took much pride in her cooking, loved canning and enjoyed her cat companions.
She is survived by her children Darlene and Steve Carr of Eddington, Diana Tucker of Hermon, Bonita and Richard Clarke of Augusta, Andrea Willette and Mark Dunn of Decatur IL, Joe and Sally Long of Sherman, Mark and Cheryl Long of Vanceboro and Nicole Long-Bennett and Bob Bennett of Dexter as well as her two sisters Merlyne Ryan of Island Falls and Sandra McNally of Patten. Gloria always had a love of babies and was especially proud of her 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday October 7, 2024 at 2:00PM, at the R.I.P. Museum, 56 Sherman Rd., Island Falls, ME 04747. Interment will follow at the Golden Ridge Cemetery following the service. A time of fellowship to follow at The Molunkus Valley Snodrifters Clubhouse at 58 North street in Sherman.
