Gordon Hurt, a beloved father and devoted family man, passed away on November 14, 2024 in Bolivar, Tennessee. Born on March 31, 1959, in Jackson, Michigan, Gordon dedicated over 30 years as a Quality Lab Technician at Kaman Aerospace. His commitment to excellence in his career mirrored the dedication he showed to his family, which was the cornerstone of his life.
Gordon was known for his vibrant personality and a heart full of love, especially for his children and grandchildren. He had an unwavering passion for family that shone through every aspect of his life. His daughters, Jaclyn Holmes and her husband Adrian, aka "Bobby" from Beaufort, SC, Rebecca Wright and her husband Cory, aka "my little buddy" from Middleton, and Jessica Davis and her husband Cody, aka "Hoss", from Tampa, FL, were the pride and joy of his life. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Gordon's love extended beautifully to his grandchildren, Trent and Kendrah Gray, Christopher Wright, and James Davis. He always made time to connect with them, sharing in their joys and achievements. He cherished these little ones, not just as a grandfather but as a guiding light, eager to instill the values he held dear.
Born to the late Paul Frederick Hurt and Carole Dawson Hurt, who lives in Liberty, KY, Gordon is also survived by his loving siblings: sister, Connie Spicer and her husband, Mike from Liberty, KY, and brothers, Doug Hurt from Cedar Springs, MI, and Brian Hurt and his wife Carolyn from Palmer, MA. Each of them holds precious memories of time spent together, resonating with laughter and shared experiences.
Outside of work and family, Gordon had various hobbies that brought him joy and fulfillment. He was an avid fan of Detroit Lions football, passionately cheering for his team during the season. He enjoyed tackling home improvement projects, often found building porches and decks. Fishing was another pastime that brought him peace, allowing him to savor the beauty of nature and relax. He and his daughter, Rebecca, had lived in the Middleton area for about a year, having lived in Kingsland, GA and Southwick, MA previously.
Gordon Hurt leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories in the hearts of all who knew him. His remarkable ability to connect with those around him, coupled with his deep love for his family, will forever be remembered.
