On February 12, 1958 the late Arthur and Lois Mathews welcomed the birth of their son Gregory Trent into the world. He was nurtured and grew up in a loving, Christian home in Bolivar, Tennessee.
Greg was formally educated in the Hardeman County School System where he excelled in leadership and sports. He continued his education at TSU receiving a degree in Mathematics. He also received post graduate certification in Counseling. His adult career was varied including stents as an engineer, teacher, counselor, and entrepreneur.
At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He knew that salvation did not exempt him from tribulations, yet through his trials, he maintained his faith.
Greg knew the importance of family and his family was far reaching. He enjoyed pouring back into youth and was known for encouraging others to reach their goals.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Hiram (Kamilah), grandson, Tyson, sisters, Barbara(Andrew), Tina (EJ) , nephews Bernie, Malik, Isaiah, nieces Katina, Lindsey, Makaila, best friend Fredell Coleman and a host of great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
