Hayven Thompson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home - Ft. Oglethorpe Chapel on Jan. 7, 2025.
Golden Hayven Thompson, 82, of Ringgold, Georgia, went home to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 4th, 2025, surrounded by his wife and children.
Hayven was born in East Ridge, TN to the late Golden and Ruby Thompson on June 23, 1942. He graduated from Central High School in 1960 where he enjoyed and excelled playing football and baseball. A man of great drive and resilience, Hayven built a legacy of hard work, entrepreneurship, and family. He spent much of his life "wheeling and dealing" as an entrepreneur in various ventures, including real estate and car sales, but his most enduring achievement was owning and operating Hixson Tire & Automotive in Hixson, TN for over 35 years. As a devoted husband and father, he was immensely proud of his children, never shying away from an opportunity to brag on them. Hayven was a lifelong believer in Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, listed above; two of his beloved daughters, Hope Thompson and Paige Thompson (John); stepson, Bryan Rasmussen; and sisters, Wanda Crane and Sandra Thompson.
He is survived and dearly missed by his wife, Linda Bagley; son, Greg Thompson (Victoria); daughter, Staci Bruce (Will); stepdaughter, Hope Dean (Josh); sister, Linda Davis (Larry); grandchildren, Daniel, Ethon, Ella, and Dawson; cousin, Jay Eidson, and nieces and nephews.
Memorial Visitation for Hayven will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Burning Bush Baptist Church, 2195 Burning Bush Road, Ringgold, GA 30736. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Burning Bush Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis McNulty officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Burning Bush Baptist Church, 2195 Burning Bush Road, Ringgold, GA 30736.
