Hazel 'Joyce' Maloy, age 75, of Altha, FL, passed away April 24, 2024. Joyce was born October 20, 1948, in Port St. Joe, FL, to the late Judge JL 'Big Jim' and Lillian 'Lucille' Godwin. Joyce was a member of Chipola Community Church. She was a homemaker, master prankster, and prayer warrior. She enjoyed researching family genealogy, antiquing, gardening, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, James 'Jimmy' Maloy; son, Tony Maloy; daughter-in-law, Melissa O'Bryan; grandson, Benjamin Barbee; and infant sister, Margaret Godwin. Survivors include her sons, Randy O'Bryan (Shanda), Michael O'Bryan, and Chris O'Bryan; daughters, Dedra Maloy Bouchard (Mike) and Jeris Maloy Barbee; daughter-in-law, Paula Maloy; brothers, Johnie Godwin (Patricia), and Jimmie Godwin; sisters Milinda Godwin Pierce (Dennis), Wanda Roberts (JW), and Dianne Danford; grandchildren, Sawyer O'Bryan, Addison O'Bryan, Casey Maloy, Jade Maloy, Hardy Mitchell, John Michael O'Bryan, Makynzie Bass (AJ), Blase O'Bryan, Bailey O'Bryan, Tyler Daniels, Kathryn Hall (Joseph), Jessica Falgout (Henry), and Bridget Barbee; along with 14 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Services for Joyce will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Chipola Community Church with visitation beginning at 10:00am CT and the funeral service starting at 11:00am CT. Interment will follow at Victory Hill Church Cemetery. There will be a reception for family and friends following the interment at the Chipola Community Church Fellowship Hall. All arrangements are under the direction of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
