Helen M. Keltz, 100, formerly of Southwest Philadelphia and Secane, passed away on October 9, 2025
She was born August 18, 1925, in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Robert A. and Genevieve (Young) Buckley.
Despite the interruption of her education by the onset of World War II, Helen's resilience shone through. She became a symbol of women's strength and determination in the workforce, known as Rosie the Riveter. Her unwavering determination led her to work in factories at General Electric and later at Westinghouse, where she contributed to the war effort and paved the way for future generations of women.
Helen's resourcefulness and creativity were evident in her role as a self-taught seamstress. She lovingly crafted clothes for her five daughters and granddaughters, with each piece reflecting her skill and dedication. Helen's passion for creating never waned; she crocheted shawls, blankets, and hats for infants and adults to donate to churches.
Helen's love and care extended to her family, who she leaves behind. She is survived by five daughters, Diane (Ed) Ryan, Helen (John Lodise) Adair, Patricia (LeRoy) Peacock, Tina (Dennis) Lennon, and Dorothy (Joe) Misiewicz; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Keltz; all of her siblings, Robert, Gertrude, Joseph, Larry, Genevieve, and Vincent; and a son-in-law, Al Kapusniak.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend her viewing from 10-11 AM, Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Secane, followed by Mass at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to the St. Jude Foundation or Special Olympics.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Online condolences can be expressed at www.cavanaghfuneralhome.com

Sending prayers to Helen´s family during this time. Helen was an amazing neighbor, directly across the street, and we have the fondest memories of how much she cared for our two girls. Always making sure we didn´t forget to come by for a special Halloween treat, coming by while outside playing to check in and say hello... We still have the little dolls that Helen gave them, and we so often and fondly think of her. A life well lived, and she will certainly be missed.

With Love, Jen & Tim Finnegan

Sending prayers for comfort and peace to Helen´s family, she was a wonderful woman and a great neighbor. Helen certainly lived an amazing life, surrounded by family and friends. We will miss the smile and wave she always had for us and her phone calls asking "a silly question". She was one of a kind, and will definitely be missed. Heaven definitely gained an angel

Diane, Helen Marie, Patty, Tina, Dot & all your families.
My heartfelt thoughts & prayers are with you all. Sorry, I can not be with you at this difficult time as you grieve your loss & celebrate Aunt Helen's Life. She was a very friendly, funny & successful strong women. She proudly raised 5 beautiful daughters whose traits they carry to prove it. I loved that she inherited Mom Mom's love of puzzles. I laugh when I get stuck on one & think "I know Aunt Helen would be able to figure this out"! I always thought of her as the Queen of Puzzles. May Angels walk with you all today & always.
Love your Florida Cousin,
