Helen M. Morgan, age 90, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Savannah on December 7, 1933, to Adolph Richard and Catherine Inez Peterson Breitenbach, Sr. and had lived in Cartersville, GA and Hixon, TN for many years before retiring to Register in 1997. She had worked for many years in the automobile industry in the clerical/sales divisions. She spent 15 years working at the Election polls. Helen enjoyed playing golf, bridge and doing word searches. She was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church of Nevils and is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert "Bob" Morgan; children, Michael McGuinness, Mark McGuinness, and Toni Michelle Zuniga; her siblings, Adolph "Richard" Breitenbach Jr., George Edward Breitenbach; her brothers in law, Richard Morgan and Theodore “Ted” Parrish and a sister-in-law, Marlene (Hugh) Cheshier.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Morgan (Jonathan) Longshore of CO and Michael McGuinness of SC; her niece and caregiver, Charlene (Tommy) Toler of Bloomingdale and a nephew, A. Richard (Heather) Breitenbach III of Cummings. Several great-nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Bonnie Chiles, Daniel Morgan both of Baltimore, MD and Christopher (Thirza) Morgan of Drayden, MD; sisters in law, Lynn Parrish of Statesboro and Sandra Coley of Savannah; 12 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, beginning at 10:00am with the funeral services to follow at 11:00am from the Sanctuary of Trinity Baptist Church in Nevils with Reverend Joe Eason officiating. Interment will be held 2:30pm at Hillcrest Abbey East in Savannah.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Abide Home Care/ Staff and Caregivers, Regency Southern Care Hospice and Georgia Hospice Care for their outstanding compassion and care.
