Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Smiley will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hebron Baptist Church, with Dr. Richard Wallace and Rev. Tommy Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Helen met her Lord and Savior Saturday, February 15, 2025, and was welcomed with open arms for her homecoming celebration. There is no doubt the first words she heard were "well done my good and faithful servant."
Born to Henry Franklin Boswell, Sr. and Janie Camp Boswell, Helen was 97 years of age and a retired homemaker. Although retired, she never slowed down helping others through her never-ending acts of kindness and love.
She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church for almost 64 years and served her church family at onetime or another as pianist, Sunday school teacher, choir member, and in many other roles.
She is survived by her son Jimmie Moore, wife Ann, brother, H.F. Boswell Jr., grandchildren; Joely Hembree, husband Edwin and Jaime Jimenez, husband Dr. Jaime, great-grandchildren; Logan Hembree, wife Jade, Landon Hembree, wife Kourtney, and great-great-granddaughter Rylynn Hembree, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Smiley, her parents, and brother, James O. Boswell.
Pallbearers will be Donald Boswell, Edwin Hembree, Dr. Jaime Jimenez, Mark McDonald, Mike Robinson, and Mike Landrum. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of her Bridge Builders Sunday school class and Ron Shirley.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
