HENRY WILLIAM BARRETT, AGED 85 PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT CHRISTINA HOSPITAL ON NOVEMBER 6,2024, SURROUND BY LOVING FAMILY. BORN ON APRIL 30, 1939, HENRY SPENT HIS YOUTH IN KENNETT, WHERE HE ATTENDED BOTH PRIMARY AND HIGH SCHOOL, FORMING FRIENDSHIPS THAT LASTED A LIFETIME.
HENRY WAS A RENOWED CHEF, HAVING HONED HIS CULINARY SKILLS AT VARIOUS ESTEEMED LOCATIONS INCLUDING CHESTER COUNTY HOSPITAL, CHESTER COUNTY PRISON,WHITE BARN, AND THE FORMER FARMER IN THE DELL. HIS PASSION FOR COOKING WAS PARALLELED BY HIS LOVE FOR THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES, PLAYING CARDS AND EXPLORING NEW RESTAURANTS WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
A FUN-LOVING HUSBAND AND FATHER AND GRANDFATHER, HENRY'S JOYFUL SPIRIT AND HEARTFELT COOKING BROUGHT WARMTH AND HAPPINESS TO MANY.
HE LEAVES TO CHERISH HIS MEMORY HIS BELOVED WIFE CHARLOTTE BARRETT, CHILDREN TOKEI HUGGINS(DALE), AND SON HENRY BARRETT, DAUGHTER JEAN CARTER AND SON MICHEAL BARRETT. HENRY'S BROTHER VANCOUIER BARRETT (RUTH) ALSO SURVIVES HIM. HIS LEGACY CONTINUES WITH 19 GRANDCHILDREN, 36 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND 6 GREAT GREAT GRAND CHILDREN. AND A HOST OF NEICES AND NEPHEWS AND COUSINS HENRY WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS FATHER VANCOUIER BARRETT AND MOTHER ESSIE MAE GLASCO BARRETT AND SON IN LAW MAURICE CARTER.
HIS LIFE WAS A TESTAMENT TO THE JOY OF FAMILY GATHERINGS, THE THRILL OF A GOOD GAME, AND THE LOVE OF A WELL PREPARED MEAL. HENRY WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM JOHN 5:28 & 29!!! WE WILL BE WAITING!!!
