Isaiah Rayjae Ashley Norwood, affectionately known as "Zay Zay," was born on April 24, 1997, in Biloxi, Mississippi, to Lakisha Ashley and Reginald Norwood Jr. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend, who brought joy and warmth to everyone around him.
Isaiah accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age and was baptized, carrying his faith with him throughout his life. He grew up with a large and loving family, sharing memories and laughter with his siblings Jeremiah, Elijah DaQuan, Shadiamond, Anthony, Shaniah, Raven, Ryan, Rayne, Jermonie, Jeremiah #22, Nasir, Amari, Money, and Kaylin. As the eldest brother, he was a protector and role model, always ready with a smile and a heart full of love for those closest to him.
Isaiah attended school in Bellflower, California, and graduated from Somerset High School in 2016. After high school, he pursued higher education at Long Beach Community College while chasing his dreams of becoming a musician. Known for his passion for music, Isaiah was a talented local rap artist who poured his heart and soul into his songs, sharing his voice and creativity with those around him.
Isaiah was also a lover of the outdoors, and he cherished the annual family camping trips, relishing the peace and beauty of nature. In recent years, he moved back to Mississippi, where he was greeted by a host of family who cherished him, including Javeon, Kayla, Kara, and Donna. Isaiah was always the life of the party, and his bright smile and infectious laughter uplifted those around him.
Isaiah had a gift for connecting with others. He built friendships with people from all walks of life, even catching the attention of notable figures like the Mayor of Pass Christian and hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, a family friend of his father. Isaiah's influence and kind spirit extended beyond family gatherings, leaving a lasting impact on his community.
Isaiah leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity. He is survived by his grandmothers, Jaqulynn Brookins and Patricia Ashley, who held him dear, and his beloved aunts, Tabitha, Tameka, and Toy Norwood, and Tray, Sonia, and Jemella Ashley. Isaiah joins his grandfather, Reginald Norwood Sr., in heaven.
Isaiah was a light in this world and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory live on through the lives he touched and the music he shared with us all.
