Jack Wesley Benton, 69, of Kingsport, passed away at Holston Valley Medical Center on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Born and raised in Kingsport, he spent his entire life in the area. Jack worked at Holston Valley Medical Center for over 30 years, serving as a CT Tech. He enjoyed traveling and spending time outside fishing and hunting. Jack was a regular at Betty’s Stockyard Café and he loved the Vols. He was a social butterfly with a great sense of humor and a lot of great friends. “To know him was to love him.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Jeanne Benton; brother, Gary Benton; and sister, Pat Roberts.
Jack is survived by his partner of 10 years, Jill Warner; son, Dakota Benton; daughter-in-law, Taylor; grandchildren, Jaycee, Emersyn, and Hudson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Special thanks to Dr. Lucinda Miller, Ballad Hospice team, and a host of good friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Morelock officiating.
