Jack, age 93, died peacefully in his home in Allendale, N.J. on January 11, 2025. His parents, Gertrude (Weinman) and David Spector and his brother Arnold Spector (Natalie) predeceased him.
Jack was born and raised in west Philadelphia. He was salutatorian and class president at West Philadelphia High School. He earned his accounting degree from Temple University and a master's degree from Rider University. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 and was deployed to Korea. Jack worked as an accountant and consultant. He started his own accounting practice at the beginning of his career and later went on to work for several companies. He again started his own accounting and consulting practice later in his career and his daughter now runs that practice.
He loved to travel, had a passion for theater, music and great restaurants. He had a collection of playbills from every show he saw, well over 100, and a large selection of CDs. He was a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan and remembers going to baseball games with his father growing up. He had many friends from childhood that became lifelong friends, and he was very close with his cousins. He also maintained friendships through his business and had friends at the senior living community where he lived.
Jack was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was married 59 years to Harlene (Sosnov) who predeceased him. He is survived by five children, Ellen Wells, Susan Spector, Andrea Mourad (Fred), Neil Spector (Jennifer) and Robert Spector (Gretchen), fourteen grandchildren, Daniel Wells (Jenna), Nicole Wells, Shelby Rakusin Fiacco (Jared), Gayle Mourad, Monica Mourad, Matthew Mourad, Fred Mourad Jr., Kevin Spector, Jason Spector, Ryan Spector, Jonah Spector, Julian Spector, Quinn Spector and Ella Spector and two great grandchildren, James Wells and John Wells.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17. Family visitation will begin at 1:30 and the funeral service will begin at 2:30 at Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel, W-150, Route 4,
