 James Frank Bortner, 83, of Mount Joy, died peacefully, Monday, February 24, 2025 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. He was the widow of Nancy L. Bortner who died in 2016.Born in Middletown he was the son of the late Mervin D. and Grace (Keim) Bortner. He was retired from the former Agway Distribution Center, Elizabethtown. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and colleting die-cast racing cars. An avid Eagles fan, he was glad to see them win Super Bowl this year.

 Surviving is a daughter Susan wife of Randy Crossland, Mount Joy; a son James F. husband of Diane Bortner, Brockport; two grandsons, Matthew and Darren husband of Tracy Bortner; a sister Donna Rambler; and a brother Mervin D. Bortner, Jr., both of Manheim. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Bortner.

 Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 W. Main Street, Mount Joy, on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 12 noon. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia. There will be a time of viewing and visitation with the family on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
