James Scott Ford entered Heaven's gate on August 8, 2024. 

Scott was born in Denver, Co on December 5, 1967. He moved to Grants in 1970, where he spent his formative years. He graduated Grants High School in 1986 and later started his journalism career in circulation for the Grants Beacon. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication and passion for helping others. More than that, Scott was a devoted father, grandfather and uncle. He loved spending time with his children, sharing stories, playing games or just hanging out. He was always there to offer guidance, support and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

Scott is survived by his mother, Christiane, his father, Arnold and his brother, Jeremy. His children, Annmarie Ford, Sean Unale, Ryan Ford, Savannah Ford and Erik Ford. His grandchildren Andrew, Neveah, Elliana, Azaria, Luciana, Madisyn, Natalie, Jayden and Pollux. His nieces, Mariah Clawson and Megan Ford. His great nieces and nephews, Audianna, Benjamin, Grace, Josephine and Theodore. 

A memorial service will be held on August 24, 2024 at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church. Located at 224 Mountain Rd, Grants, NM 87020.
