James M. "Jim" Hohenberg, age 90 years, of Lone Jack, MO, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in his home surrounded by his beloved pets. Born on November 18, 1934, in Kansas City, MO to Max and Minerva (Baker) Hohenberg, Jim served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1958. He then served his community as a law enforcement officer from 1960 to 1992, retiring as a Sergeant from the Independence Police Department. He was well known for his love of animals. Jim is survived by his wife, Sharil Hubert, as well as numerous family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Minerva Hohenberg; two brothers; and two sisters. Arrangements for Jim have been entrusted to Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, MO.
