James (Jim) Ray Kidwell, age 74, departed from this life on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Jim was born August 25, 1950, in Knox City, Texas, to the late James A. (Jerry) Kidwell and Betty Jo (Vaughan) Kidwell. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Hilliard.
Jim dedicated his professional life to engineering, contributing his expertise to both Lockheed Martin and GEO Dynamics. He was a faithful member of North Side Baptist Church and devoted many years to serving with the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department alongside his father. In his leisure time, Jim found joy in golfing and bowling, hobbies that allowed him to connect with friends and family.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Kidwell; son and his wife, Aaron B. and Tina Kidwell; daughter, Janet E. Kidwell; and grandson, Chance.
Jim also leaves behind his cherished siblings: Vicki (Keith) Boyd, Bob (Debbie) Kidwell, and Richard (Andie Kay) Kidwell, Ann Munger, and Linda (Joel) Benton; as well as his brother-in-law, Allen (Angela) Henard, and their children, Austin Henard and Amy Ramsey, who held a special place in their hearts for Jim, thinking of him as their grandfather.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2024, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at North Side Baptist Church, and following the service burial will take place at Annetta Cemetery.
Jim’s warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love and dedication to family and friends will continue to inspire those he touched throughout his life.
