ALEXANDRIA, IN – On October 24, 1952, James L. "Jim" McClish came to Anderson, Indiana as the son of Fred and Martha (York) McClish. On his birthday, October 24, 2024, at the age of 72, Jim returned to his Creator from his residence following an extended illness.
Jim was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School-Class of 1971. He had served his country in the Indiana National Guard. He has held several employment positions including Johns-Manville, Swackhammer Masonry, Strong's Market, Park Place Church of God, Masonry by Mohler, parking lot attendant at the Madison County Courthouse and Action Supply of Daleville. Jim was a beloved member of the Wednesday Morning Men's Coffee Cup Fellowship. He attended the Alexandria Church of the Nazarene. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and a devoted follower of gospel music.
Survivors:
Son- Jonathan J. McClish of Anderson
2 Brothers-Jack McClish of Alexandria, Dennis (Arlena) McClish of Noblesville
Sister- Joy (Todd) Redfern of Valdosta, Georgia
Nieces-Savannah Redfern
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Sally Leeann McClish in 1976, a son-Jimmy Lee McClish in 1998.
A Service honoring Jim's life, legacy and faith will take place at 3 pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in the Alexandia Church of the Nazarene, 1407 South Harrison Street, Alexandria with Pastor Aaron Chester officiating. Friends may call at the church after 2 pm prior to the service. Cremation will follow the service with private interment in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Madison County Special Olympics, 1100 East 5th Street, Anderson, IN 46012.
Jim's care and service arrangements have been entrusted to Owens Funeral Home of Alexandria.
