James O'Connor Obituary

James H. O'Connor DMD, age 84, a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully, October 3, 2024. Born in Woburn he was the son of the late Edward J. and Helen (Wallace) O'Connor.
James was raised and educated in Woburn and was a graduate of Woburn High School. He went on further his education and was a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston and then attended Tufts Dental School earning his Doctorate Degree and graduating at the top of class. James also proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era attaining the rank of Captain. When he returned home to Woburn he began his career practicing dentistry in Woburn for many years. In his leisure time, James enjoyed fishing and boating, vacationing over the years in Ipswich, MA and in New Hampshire always by the ocean or lake. He was a practical joker and enjoyed having fun with his family and friends. His greatest joy was his family and nothing made happier than to spend quality time with them, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored and most proud of. He will be greatly missed.
James is survived by his children, Joelle Brady and her husband Bill of Woburn, Shamus O'Connor of Texas, Shaun O'Connor of Boston, and Meghan O'Connor of Boston. He was the loving grandfather of William Tyler Brady, Devin Brady and his wife Ludiana, Shayla Brady and her fiancé Kyle Drew, Cole Brady, Mackenzie Brady, and Lane McGowen. Brother of the late Edward O'Connor, Catherine McGann, William O'Connor, John O'Connor, and Lawrence O'Connor. He further survived by many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with James' wishes funeral services will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516
