THOMPSON, Mr. James Edward - Age 72, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Foss Avenue Baptist Church, 1159 E. Foss Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Brian C. Frelix, officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Thompson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Friday, December 13, 2024 from 12:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Mr. James Edward Thompson was born September 24, 1952 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the son of Annie Maple King and Andrew Pearsall. James was a resident of Flint, Michigan and will be dearly missed. Mr. James Edward Thompson leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Jacqualyn Thompson of Flint; 5 daughters and 3 sons, Jacquel, Janelle (Juan) Pitts, Jacenta, Michael Jackson, Wesley (Lisa) Jackson, Erick Blanton, Andrea Cordero and Ina Blanton; 26 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Teresa Persall and Debra Persall; 3 nieces; 4 nephews; 2 aunts, Faye Howell and Nazarene Darrow; a host of cousins; mother-in-law, Ina E. Stockton; 2 sisters-in-law; 5 brothers-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his grandson, Miquan Jackson; parents, Annie Maple King and Andrew Pearsall; grandfather, Tameru Thompson; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to express special thanks Hurley Medical Center doctor, Dr. Berrou and nurses in the ICU, Zac and Dan, Henry Ford ICU nurses, Joelle and Richard, his work family at Plaza One and all the friends and family for all of your prayers and assistance.
