Funeral service for Jan Sickles, age 66, of Farmers Branch, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas with David Rogers, Aubrey Whitlock, and Jonathan Pharr officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery with Will Brisendine, Ken Pharr, Barry Brewer, Michael Pharr, Trevor Moore, Cody Brisendine and Benjamin Moore serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Sickles passed away at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Janet Sickles was born on September 16, 1958 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Harold and Ann (Rogers) Jones. She married Stuart Jason Sickles in Farmers Branch, Texas on February 9, 1991. Jan worked as a school teacher for the Saltillo ISD as well as Brookhaven Community College as an Intermediate Math teacher. Jan and her husband owned a Schlotzsky’s in the 1990’s. Most recently, she was a Senior Accounts Specialist for Crayon Software Experts. Jan was a member of Pine Hill Church.
Jan is survived by her husband, Jason Sickles of Farmers Branch; mother, Ann Jones of Saltillo; sister, Kim Moore of Carrollton, Texas; and brother, Neal Jones (Tina) of Weston, Texas; sister-in-law Bonnie Brisendine of Argyle, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews, Will Brisendine, Cody Brisendine, Chelsea Spears, Mariah Ojai, Trevor Moore, Benjamin Moore, Kennedi Jones, and Karson Jones.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Jones.
