Jane Potoczny Denk Obituary

Jane was led to Jesus at a young age by her sweet Gram Koelbl and walked faithfully with the Lord her entire life. Her favorite verse is written twice in Scripture, first in II Samuel 22:31 and again in Psalm 18:30 "As for God, His way is Perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: He is a shield to all those who trust Him." She married her first husband, a single father of four, at the age of 23. She loved his children and remained a daily presence in their lives until they were grown. Jane added four beautiful children of her own, who completed our family and brought renewed joy and laughter to our home. She helped her husband with many endeavors including catering, delivering flowers, as well as volunteering at Camp Awana, Church, and Awana Clubs. Jane became single in middle age and then graduated from Judson University. She remained covered in the love, provision, and grace of the Lord. Jane struggled through trauma, betrayal, and illness her entire life but never gave up on faith and love. Jane nurtured love and kindness in her relationships with her siblings, children, and many close friends. She found true love and acceptance in her marriage to Michael Denk. Today, she is in the arms of her Heavenly Father; she is healed, restored and reunited with her loved ones who passed into Glory before her. As per her wishes, her body has been donated to Florida Gulf Coast University and will remain in Fort Myers, FL. Memorial services will be held at a later date near Greeneville, TN. Jane is preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth, her husband Michael Denk, her fathers, her stepson Ronald, and her brothers Barney and Jimmy. Her legacy will live on through her three sons Timothy (Cindy) Potoczny, Benjamin (Kat) Potoczny, and Daniel (Cassidy Cichon) Potoczny; her grandchildren Elizabeth, Joseph, Cheyenne, Austin, and Bo; her step-children through her marriage to Ron Potoczny, John Potoczny, Don (Didem) Potoczny, Katherine (Ron) Stillman; her step-children through her marriage to Michael Denk, Patricia Kussy, Catherine Denk, Mari-Beth Thanos, Carilyn (Robert) Ward, Barbara (Jason) Figg, and Michael Denk II; her step-grandchildren Eric, Sarah, Tabitha, Cyndy, Jeremiah, Cameron, Camille, Alexander, Kristen, Michelle, Stephanie, Cory, Robert, Danny, Thomas, Jason, David, Mikaylin, Michael, Javon, and Justice; her mother Helen Strecker; her sisters Rosemarie, Mona, Patricia, and Juliana, alongside a host of nephews and nieces and many others loved ones.
