Janice Lee (Ostrum) Baade of Titonka IA was born January 5th 1935 in London Minnesota to Edward and Lucille Ostrum. She was the oldest of 4 children. Her family moved to Algona where she attended Algona School and graduated in 1953. She attended nursing school in Des Moines at Drake University in conjunction with Broadlawns Hospital where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1956. During that time, she married her sweetheart Donald Leroy Baade on March 27th 1955. Donald shipped off with the military while she finished nursing school. She was very proud of being a Registered Nurse throughout her entire life. Janice raised her five children by herself after Donald passed away in 1975. She was the best Mother, a shining example of a loving, giving person, and hard worker with an incredible faith.
She is survived by her five children and her beloved little dog Bailey, Ryan (Lynn) Baade, Griffen Ga., Marcia Baade, Algona, Ron (Pam) Baade, Algona, David (Claudia) Baade, El Paso, TX, Karen (Larry) Jones, White City, KS, Grandchildren; Stephanie Roberts, Matthew (Brandi) Baade, Brandon (Paige) Baade, Jill (Mark) Christensen, Maximillion Baade, Mia Baade, Andrew (Josie) Leeck, Christian Jones. Great Grandchildren, Kimber and Kennedy Roberts, Oliver and Theodore Baade, Lincoln and Chevelle Baade, Maisy and Melody Christensen, Onnah, Easton, and Arya Leeck. She is also survived by her brother Jerry (Arlene) Ostrum, Milford Ia. and her brother Steve (Pat) Ok, as well as many nieces and nephews who she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents Edward and Lucille, Don's parents, Henry and Gladys Baade and his sister Violet Korte. Her Beloved Grandmother Myra, her Grandfather Frank, Her brother Jim and his wife Pat, and her great grandson Milo. She loved God first and gave Him all the Glory for her life and she instilled that love into her children. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed every moment she got to spend with them and her treasured friends.
The yearly family reunions at her farm where the Baade's and Ostrum's gathered was such a special part of her life. Our minds will forever be etched with the image of her standing on the porch steps whenever we left the farm, waving goodbye and saying a prayer for our safe travels.
We love you Mom!
