Janice Wooten, age 71, of Clarence, MO, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Monroe Manor in Paris, MO.
Janice was born February 26, 1953 in Carrollton, IL, the daughter of Ellis Wayne and Esther (Russell) Hendricks.
Janice is survived by two daughters, Angel Chinn of Shelbina, MO and Jodie Wisdom of Monroe City, MO; six grandchildren, Lacie Mettes (Tyler), Dillon Apel (Elizabeth), Nicole Wisdom, Brennan Wisdom, Keira Wisdom, and Garrett Chinn; ten great-grandchildren; her mother, Esther Howard of Jerseyville, IL; step-mother, Rena Hendricks of Clarence, MO; and ten siblings, John Branham of Jerseyville, IL, Kenneth Branham (Carla) of Kampsville, IL, Mike Branham of Jerseyville, IL, Geraldine Knapp of Clarence, MO, Randole Hendricks of Clarence, MO, Danny Hendricks of Clarence, MO, Candy Koontz of Auxvasse, MO, Connie House of Clarence, MO, Kari Crawford of Clarence, MO, and Willie Hendricks (Sonya) of Clarence, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ellis Hendricks; her grandparents; her siblings, Richard Branham, Terrie Patton, Ernest Hendricks, and Crystal Breden.
Janice attended the First Baptist Church in Clarence, MO. She enjoyed farming with her husband and also worked as a social worker for many years. She loved helping others and was very passionate about her work at the battered women's shelter. Janice enjoyed fishing, hunting, crocheting, collecting antiques, and visiting with friends and family for morning coffee. Most of all, Janice loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and her dogs, Gizmo and Baby.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11 am at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence, MO. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 10 am to 11 am at the funeral home in Clarence, MO. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or Tunnel to Towers.
