Jennie P. Hanson, 89, formerly of the Hallock Hill Road, Peru, died, Monday, September 16, 2024.
Born in August 1935 to William Jr. and Exzelda (Barber) Robare, Jennie and her twin Eugene were the third and fourth of eight children – Dick, Theresa, Wayne, June, Sherwood, and Shirley.
Jennie married Earl V. Hanson and had four beloved children.
Jennie is survived by a large family, including her children Brion (Roxie), Mark, Terry (Norman), and Scott (Taunya) as well as her grandchildren Jason E., Jason A. (Jessica), Andrea (Michael), Adam (Ashley), Josh (Jessica), Joshua, Casey, Tonie (John), Heather, Brady, many great grandchildren, and special friends.
Jennie was an extraordinary lady. She was the backbone of her family and a pillar of her community. Jennie worked her entire life, first raising her younger siblings and her own children, and then working outside the home, including at Forrence Orchards through her formal retirement. Jennie had many treasured friendships, and loved bowling and traveling. Even after retiring, Jennie stayed busy, spending much cherished time with the Forrence family. Jennie then relished her time with Scott and Taunya and passed away, surrounded with so much love, in Keeseville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 11 am at St. John's Church in Keeseville. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the Port Douglas Cemetery in Keeseville.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville, 518-834-7667.
