Jessie Garza Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boyer Funeral Home - Seminole from Oct. 13 to Oct. 14, 2025.
Funeral services for Jessie "Tutie" Garza, Sr., age 81, of Seminole, Texas, will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, with Pastor Gilbert Ramirez officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home. His family has lovingly provided the following obituary.

Jessie Garza, Sr. was born in Alpine, Texas, on June 3, 1944, one of six children born to Josephina (Salcido) and Agapito Garza. He married the love of his life, Hilda Urquietta, on June 5, 1965, in Seminole, and together they celebrated 60 beautiful years of marriage.

Jessie devoted his life to serving others through his work as a mechanic, and he lived with quiet dignity and strength. A reserved man by nature, Jessie's love and pride for his children, grandchildren, and extended family shone brightly in all he did.

He had a passion for hands-on activities like hunting, fishing, and golfing, and he cherished sharing these experiences with those closest to him. If you were one of a lucky few, you were gifted with a beautiful, handcrafted knife. For Jessie, making memories with his family and friends was what life was all about. Jessie Garza, Sr. was known for his generosity, strong character, and deep love. He ensured that everyone around him felt valued and knew they had a special place in his heart.

Jessie passed away on October 9, 2025, in Seminole, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Agapito and Josephina Garza, two brothers, and four sisters. He is survived by: his devoted wife, Hilda Garza of Seminole; one sister, Sylvia Corpus of Missouri; one son, Jessie Garza, Jr., and wife Michelle of Lubbock, Texas; one daughter, Sandra Garza-Wiechmann, and husband Mike of Lubbock, Texas; four beloved grandchildren: Michael Wiechmann, Jr., Dr. Catherine Wiechmann, Bryanna Garza, and Jaycee Garza.

Jessie leaves behind a legacy of love, quiet strength, and enduring family values. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A special thank you to Seminole Memorial Hospital, the Seminole nursing home, and Interim Healthcare for their compassionate care and support. The family would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Parkey and Dr. Watson for the kindness and dedication they showed during Jessie's final days.
